What are Dental Implants?

Make an Appointment

Over 178 million Americans are missing at least one tooth.  Every day, more people are discovering dental implants, a remarkable new technology that delivers a permanent solution for restoring your smile.

What Are Dental Implants?

Implant BreakdownDental implants are a customized system for restoring missing teeth that look and feel just like natural teeth.  Our dental implants consist of three main parts, the fixture, the abutment and the crown.  Together they create this revolutionary solution for your smile:

  • The Implant Fixture: The fixture is the part of the implant that holds everything in place.  The fixture is drilled directly into jawbone to anchor the entire implant.  Because the fixture is made from titanium, a biocompatable material, it integrates with your jawbone in the same way manner that the roots of your natural teeth do.
  • The Abutment: The abutment is the middle part of the implant which attaches the fixture to the crown.  As soon as the fixture is fully assimilated with your jawbone, the abutment is fitted on top of the fixture by your dentist.
  • The Dental Implant Crown:  Your dentist will attach the dental implant crown to the abutment.  The crown is the only part of the implant that people will see.  It’s designed to look and feel just like one of your natural teeth.

What is Osseointegration?

The cutting edge technology of our dental implants relies on an amazing process called osseointegration.  The fixture is fully harmonized with the rest of your smile because it is made of titanium, a fully biocompatible material that will never rust or decay,
